    Ozzie,
Does Vikrane gas set off smoke alarms? Do smoke alarms need to be turned off?

Hello, maybe you can clarify this. You are fumigating Acraro next week, after watching your video it says to bag all perishable items but not dishes. The video shows frozen foods being bagged, it doesn’t make sense to me why these and/or canned foords would need to be but plates I am eating off don’t. Are we supposed to wash all the dishes after it’s completed? Thanks

Hey Morgan. The product we use does not leave any residual. Your dishes will be just as clean as the day you leave them. However, extensive studies have not been conducted on the fumigants effect on food items. Therefore the law requires that all food items be double bagged in Nylofume bags. It’s more of a “better safe than sorry” regulation.

Did I miss instructions about smoke and carbon monoxide detectors? Should they be disabled or can they be left alone? I was concerned that they would be triggered by the fumigation.

Do you have any knowledge of whether vikane has any damaging effect on rubber or plastic? Gases such as ozone are known to cause rubber and plastics to break down.

Hi Mel. There’s no need to turn off or remove smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. The will not be triggered by the fumigant we will use. They can stay functioning as normal. Vikane also has no affect on rubber or plastics.

our gas tanks should be removed correct.. what about our gas grill?

we have water cooler.. should we remove the water on top of this which is open

our patio furniture.. we should set about 10 feet from building structure?

    • Ozzie Camacho

Hey Jacqueline. Gas tanks can stay as is. Just make sure the valve is shut. The grill can stay also. The water cooler can also stay as is. The patios will also be covered within the tent so the best thing to do is to collapse down any umbrellas to minimize the risk of damage. Best would be to put the furniture inside of the home if possible.

Some units are not occupied by owner or are rented out monthly. How do you make sure these units are prepped properly.

    • Ozzie Camacho

Hey Sam. The unit owner will have to assume responsibility of proper preparation as if they lived in the home. If you expect to have renters during the fumigation, it would be best for them to review all the instructions so they know exactly what to expect. We’re happy to help guide them through the process as well.

        Hello,

I don’t think I received bags to 319 Arcaro Ln—can I get those delivered today so that I can pack up before I go out of town tomorrow?

        Thanks

Hi Kristin. Unfortunately we don’t have anyone available to deliver bags before Friday. I’d hate to have you drive up to Irvine to pick up a set. Perhaps a willing neighbor will let you use theirs and we can drop off bags to them on Friday.
