regarding item #4- above – when you say that the gas company will shut off valve for each unit does that mean I do not need to shut off the heating unit in the attic – by the gas company shutting off the main gas meter outside will automatically shut off everything in my unit including the heater?

lastly I have a Keurig coffee maker the coffee pods are sealed – do I need to put in bags or can I leave out?

    thank you.

I am from Unit 4 of the Lunada Bay HOA – scheduled fumigation on 1/26/24. I have a few questions below:
    1. All wine bottle and liquor sealed can be left in house and in shed in garage – any manufactures sealed jars can be left UN-bagged?
    2. the shed in garage lock is broken – and I have taped it you can open by pulling tape – the only perishables is several boxes of wine not opened, OK to leave?
    3. There is also a package of Snapple unopened sealed and pelligrino sealed do i need to put in a bag?
    4. Are you going to turn off the central heating in attic or by turning off the gas valve be sufficient?
    5. Sealed peanut butter and any other jars of food that have a seal over the jar is OK to not bag?
    6. I understand that we need to be back by noon so that we can meet the gas person to let in house to turn on gas?

Let me know on the above. Thank you,

Hi Sylvia. Allow me to go through your questions here below:
      1. Wine bottles and other glass and metal containers do not have to be bagged if they have never been opened.
      2. The storage is okay to leave as you described it.
      3. As long as those products are in a glass/metal container factory sealed, it’s okay to leave out.
      4. Residents must turn off their HVAC prior to the crews arrival. Your gas service provider is in charge of ensuring that the meter is shut off cutting supply to all lines within the home.
      5. If the peanut butter is in factory condition (never opened) you may leave it out.
      6. Correct. Gas techs are scheduled to arrive anytime between 12pm and 6pm to perform safety tests of your gas lines and then restore service. They will need to do this from within the home so please be sure someone is there to give them access.
